Aliya (nee Baharom) is one of the two overarching protagonists (alongside General Rama) of the Agent Ali series.
She was Ali's mother, Dr. Ghazali's wife, and Bakar's older sister. She used to be a part of the infamous serial thief for Pinggiran's sake before Dayang took her in. She was a former agent for M.A.T.A. and classified under Techno Pillar.
Throughout the flashbacks, Aliya is always seen wearing a green hoodie over her hijab, which shares the same shade of green. She also wears a red baju kurung under her hijab. Her young adult self wears a green hoodie, black hijab, long red t-shirt that reached before her knees, black pants, and black sneakers. In the comfort of her home, she wore a pastel green blouse, grey hijab, and grey pants.
In MISSION: NEO (Movie), Aliya sports a light armor of blue, red and some small yellow hint, the colors of a Techno agent and she has a hijab hood for her agent suits.
Personality
Aliya is kind, brave, understanding and loving. As the older sister to Bakar, she is his role model. She always encourages him, comforts him and defends him from bullies. She does the same for Dr. Ghazali and Ali.
She is shown to be smart and resourceful. In "MISSION: ANALOG", she is able to make a video game console as substitute to GameBod for Bakar by herself in school. She also helps invent an Exo-suit for Niki and fix electrical issue at Pinggiran. She helped create the base of I.R.I.S. by inventing an x-ray vision scanner, before she joined M.A.T.A.. Her main gadget, the spinning tops, were invented and improvised by herself.
Ali shares a lot of similarities with her as stated by Bakar in "MISSION: PERFORMANCE", such as their tendency to help people in need without asking for rewards, as seen by how Aliya helps Niki and Pinggiran, and how Ali saved Bakar, Comot, or Alicia.
In MISSION: NEO, it is shown that when she is alive, she likes to help poor and helpless people, like Niki, and is shown to be a very motivating mother to Ali as she wants her son to keep protecting people and preserving her M.A.T.A. legacy as time went on.
History
Aliya was Bakar's older sister, who often protected and supported him both physically and emotionally. At some point, she met Niki, and learn about Pinggiran, the slums of Cyberaya. She built an exo-suit for Niki so she can walk without relying on a crutch.
One day, both her and Niki saw the discrimination happening in Pinggiran, and decided to be serial thieves together by stealing advanced technological gadgets or supplies to support the livelihood of Pinggiran. Their adventures ended when they encountered the Pillar Leaders of M.A.T.A - Zain, Dayang, Ganz, and Djin, and they went their separate ways since. Aliya joined M.A.T.A while Niki form new partnership with Surya and Andik.
At one point of her life after joining M.A.T.A, she met Ghazali and build a family together with him, and had Ali together.
Story
Season 1
In "MISSION: RISE", Aliya is revealed to be Bakar's older sister. In one of his flashbacks, she was there to defend Bakar from bullies and encourages him by saying he's strong. Since then, Bakar always encourages himself by saying that he's strong.
Season 2
In "MISSION: ANALOG", she was seen comforting Bakar when she saw him alone and unhappy. She played tag with him to show that they did not need video games to have fun. She then created a console gameplay for him just to cheer him up.
Some time later, she grew up, met Dr. Ghazali and was married to him. Bakar said that they were married 14 years ago in "MISSION: MILK". She then had a son named Ali and a pet cat named Labu. Bakar also visited her often and took care of Ali. However, in "MISSION: COMOT", it was revealed that she had passed away. Though, it was never revealed what happened to her.
Despite being a minor character, she played a major role in the lives of Ali, Dr. Ghazali and Bakar. When she was alive, the family was happy. Since her death, the lives of Ali, Dr. Ghazali and Bakar become miserable. Dr. Ghazali becomes depressed and shifts his focus from his family to his work. Bakar becomes distant and has not seen Ali until "MISSION: IRIS". Labu ran away from home and never returned. Ali is being neglected and feels alone, and his studies begin to deteriorate.
MISSION: NEO
In MISSION: NEO, it is revealed that Aliya died while on a mission with the chief pillars. During a missile launched by Niki, Aliya used Override Mode to prevent the missiles from blowing up the city. After the missiles struck each other, they exploded in the air while Aliya eventually died using this mode 100%.
In the latter part of the movie, Aliya's presence in the dimension of an I.R.I.S. is shown, and Ali meets his mother for the final time. He dismays about the new invention, but she states that it comes only from the user and determination. Until she reveals the truth for trying to access the Override Mode, her son disheartens. Because of this, she strengthens and gives him courage, and his eyes turn blue, as she wants him to control the Override on his own and fight Niki back. thus, Ali glows blue as a symbol of the great power bestowed by Aliya to her son to protect Cyberaya.
After the fight, Niki refuses to surrender to Ali. She activates the Azurium bomb on her suit before Ali traps her through the dimension to stop her from suicide. Then, Aliya appears in front of her and removes the I.R.I.S. Neo until the gadget falls on the ground, and the bomb shuts off. And lastly, Ali leaves unconscious, telling him not to be sad and be strong even without her help and fades away, and his original I.R.I.S. finally turns off. Niki regrets her madness to Aliya, but Bakar condemns her, telling her that his sister cannot do it to take revenge against her.
MISSION: S.A.T.R.I.A.
Aliya made a brief appearance in Ali's nightmare sequence. Ali fell down a hole after tripping on General Rama's body, and landed in his own bedroom, Aliya looking at him worriedly. Ali broke down and hugged her, seeking for comfort from all the nightmares he went through. Aliya patted him at the back, telling him that he can rest now, and tried to take his I.R.I.S. off him. Alicia shoot her arrow at her arm, stopping her from disconnecting Ali from I.R.I.S.. Aliya's figure changed to Cero's.
Gadgets
Tops/Gasing: Aliya's main gadget, where she often employed three or more gasing at a time. Built with a special high-resistant alloy materials. Also works as a bomb and a shield for its user.
I.R.I.S.: Aliya lead the project for I.R.I.S. and is the main writer for its source code, with her "XVision" she built during her time at Pinggiran as the base for I.R.I.S.. I.R.I.S. can scan the area with x-ray vision and provided the user with information such as threat level, weapons, next predicted move, etc. She overexerted the use of I.R.I.S. with Override Mode in order to redirect the trajectory of the missiles launched by Niki, leading to Azurium poisoning and destruction of her vitals.

Ali: Ali was Aliya's only son. She dies when he was still very young, so Ali doesn't get the chance to get to know her personally. He still remembers the warmth and happiness he experiences when Aliya was still around. Ali mostly learn things about Aliya based on stories from Bakar, and after MISSION: NEO, her video logs stored in M.A.T.A. database. Ali often chased after her and wants to continue her legacy, and she is Ali's main source of motivation to do his best. Ali would often imitate anything Aliya has once done, such as helping Pinggiran, improving her Tops (gasing) gadget, trying to win Arena championship, or trying to make ketupat[2] or kuih raya using her recipes[3]. They get to meet and talk with each other in I.R.I.S. Dimension, though the Aliya Ali meets is a copy data of Aliya stored in I.R.I.S.. Ali deleted her data in order to defeat Niki and save Cyberaya.
Bakar was Aliya's younger brother. Bakar looked up to her and admired her deeply, and sees her as his role model. His main reason of becoming an agent is because Aliya wished for him to be. He stopped visiting Ali and Dr. Ghazali after her death, as he was grieving over her. Bakar wanted to hit Niki after finding out the truth about Aliya, but spared her and gives her a second chance in honor of her sister.
Dr Ghazali was Aliya's husband. Dr Ghazali love her deeply and still grieving her death even after a decade has passed. Her death changed the dynamic of the household and turn Ghazali from a loving father to a more withdrawn, tired father, who has a dysfunctional relationship with their son, Ali. While he is strict of Ali, he sees some part of Aliya in Ali and is proud of their son together.
Aliya was Niki's first friend. Aliya offered to help Niki, who fell to the floor after getting knocked off her feet by a passerby. She helps bring Niki back to Pinggiran, and was surprised to see the state of the place. Since then, she helped build an exo-suit for Niki so she can walk and run without the aid of a crutch. Both Niki and Aliya shared the same goal, which is to help Pinggiran and the weak, but their approach are polar opposites. Niki, who only knows the life of a survival-of-the-fittest has no qualm in hurting others or taking things forcefully from others, even things she doesn't necessarily need, whereas Aliya who lives in a more comfortable life still faces some guilt over stealing and hurting others, thus she never tells Bakar about her time at Pinggiran. Aliya refuse to drag innocent people into her battles while Niki has no problem letting the innocents get hurts if it brings benefits to her, as most civilians in Cyberaya never spares a glance at her and Pinggiran. Niki often cause trouble and chaos during their mission, with Aliya cleaning up after her. When M.A.T.A. pillar leaders - Zain, Dayang, Ganz, and Djin - themselves get involved to solve the serial theft issue (caused by Niki and Aliya) in Cyberaya, they got separated permanently with Aliya getting captured by M.A.T.A. and Niki escaping to Pinggiran, making them lose contact since. Niki sees Aliya joining M.A.T.A. as an act of betrayal, and hold grudges since then. Niki caused Aliya's death by releasing three missiles targeting to Cyberaya's Bangunan Perdana, and Aliya sacrificed herself by overexerting her energy when using Override Mode to redirect the missiles trajectory. Even until Aliya's death, both of them weren't able to see and understand each other's perspectives about what is the correct way to help Pinggiran. Despite the hatred Niki felt for Aliya, she still did loves Aliya as much as she used to, seen by her hanging out at both her and Aliya's favourite spot, keeping her Gasings/Tops, jackets, and photos, and still use their "Robin" logo.
Mak Yah: Mak Yah was one of the citizen in Pinggiran. Mak Yah is grateful for all of Aliya's help to Pinggiran and looked out for Ali as favor for Aliya. She worries for Niki as she noticed the change in her after Aliya left. Aliya's last help for Pinggiran was trying to save Mak Yah by stealing the artificial heart for her, before she was captured and absorbed into M.A.T.A..
Dayang: Dayang was one of the agents assigned to track down the serial thieves who has been stealing the advanced technological items in Cyberaya. She fought Aliya and Niki, and was impressed with Aliya's inventions, sparing her and offering to let Aliya join M.A.T.A.. She likes Aliya a lot, and that likes was extended to Ali as well, as she claimed his potential as an agent is inherited from Aliya.
Zain: Zain was one of the agents assigned to track down the serial thieves who has been stealing the advanced technological items in Cyberaya. He went on a mission with Aliya to stop Niki who were stealing and messing with Cyberaya's own missiles, and was the last person to see Aliya alive. He tried to stop her from overexerting herself, but Aliya refuse as Override Mode is the only way to save Cyberaya from the raining missiles.

Her name is first revealed in the end credits of MISSION: ANALOG.

Aliya is somewhat not just associated with the colors of red and blue, she is also somewhat associated with green as she has a green gasing (top) and used to wear green in both flashbacks and the picture tablets founded in her personal box. Green is a symbolism for people who are cool, calm, inventive, logical and perfectionist. this hints that Aliya is always calm in some situations at one point, is very inventive as seen when creating her gasings and I.R.I.S. and is like a perfect agent in M.A.T.A..
Aliya's cover for her identity as an agent is that she works as a nurse, as mentioned by Ali to Bakar[5]. The story given to cover up the true cause of her death is that she fell extremely sick before her death[5].
Aliya always prepare ketupat for eid celebration, and tried to teach Bakar how to make ketupat as well[2].
Aliya has her own kuih raya (special pastries/cookies prepared for eid celebration) recipes[3].
