“It's all your fault. Why did you have to damage R-O the other day?” - ―Bulat asking to Ali about R-O in MISSION: ATLAS
Bulat is an agent under M.A.T.A. Academy. Although he first appears in "MISSION: ACADEMY", his name is revealed in "MISSION: ORIENTATION". He is classified as a TECHNO agent. He, Roza, Zass and Chris are in a teams.
Appearance[]
Bulat has a short hairdo, which he combed back and tied up. He is bigger-sized compared to other young agents (except for Aleks). He sported a red-coloured Techno armor suit, red gloves, and red shoes. In the promotional image, Bulat is shown to be a Muslim when he is seen as being tired of fasting along with both Zass and Jet.
Personality[]
Bulat is portrayed as cheerful, food-loving, resourceful and eager, occasionally described as having a “rakus makan” (gluttonous) side tempered with a ready smile. Despite a lack of extensive personal character exploration, Bulat shows loyalty and quick thinking in missions—evidenced when he heroically saves Ali during MISSION: CHAMPION by hurling his puzzle gadget to stall adversaries even without higher-level technology. Bulat has high imagination, focus, and is also very detailed-oriented[1]. He is also creative, being able to think up solutions that is outside of the box, even in critical moments, and being able to utilize his creativity to invent something different each time but with its own distinct function[2]. He loves to challenge himself by solving Spherubics as part of his cognitive training[3]. Bulat can solve many and any types of complex puzzles. Bulat however dislikes doing physical activity, and would rather be a support agent, as he claimed it to be a safer option[4][5].
History[]
Season 2[]
After Ali and Alicia concluded their orientation test, Bulat, alongside other students, introduced themselves to Ali and Alicia. In MISSION: CHALLENGE, Bulat's ranked second last (before Ali), and the time taken to complete his simulation training is 49:85 second. Agent Geetha assigned Khai, Bulat, and Ali, to invent a gadget that can help their fellow teammates, and Bulat invented a jukebox for Mika. When Ali was confused with Khai's anger at him, Bulat told him that he was upset because Ali had destroyed R-0 previously. When Numeros invade M.A.T.A. Academy, Bulat suggested to the other students to use emergency jet to escape, causing an argument to broke among them. Ali inspired them to fight, and Bulat was moved by his speech and ruined the moment by clapping alone. He joined them in battling Numeros.
MISSION: NEO[]
Bulat appeared alongside other M.A.T.A. agents as backups for Ali and Bakar to fight against Niki in the climax. Just like every other agents, he was issued a pair of I.R.I.S. Neo, but Niki was able to override it, making him lose control and attack Ali. Ali freed him from her control when he triggered Override Blue.
Season 3[]
During an online class session, Agent Geetha forcefully turned on Bulat's camera, exposing him secretly eating during class. When he first arrived at M.A.T.A. Arena, he requested to be excluded from their friendly match, and hang out alone at the assemble area of Arena, playing with his Spherubics. He was disqualified from M.A.T.A. Arena after Round 2, and was moved to a different location while awaiting the end of Arena. He returned in MISSION: CAMP and had a camping trip with the other students, and helped supervised the cooking. When Cinco invaded, Bulat, Khai, and Sam, helped shortcircuited the door to escape, and he helped resuscitate Sam, who was injured by the Microbugs that were preventing from the door opening. Both him and Khai went to Techno room to get Ali and Alicia, and they returned to the battlefield. After Cinco gained control of M.A.T.A. mainframe, Khai's R-0 and his Spherubics was rendered offline. He threw his Spherubics towards Cinco to disorient her enough so she would let go of Ali. When Kim recklessly reached for Cinco to save her from getting swallowed by Microbugs, Bulat, Khai, Ali, and Alicia pulled Kim back, saving her from getting swallowed along. Bulat later congratulated Alicia for winning Arena.
MISSION: S.A.T.R.I.A.[]
Bulat was seen working as a support agent at Techno division in M.A.T.A. HQ, and helps give direction to Alicia when she asked him the location of Ali's room. He reappeared again as a hallucination in Ali's nightmare sequence.
Gadgets[]
- Spherubics: A multi-functional device that can deploy different effects based on combination input—capable of exploding, triggering confetti, or even generating a protective robot force-field. It can be used for both defense and offense[6]. Bulat invented this gadget in that only he can activate it[7]. He mostly used it for missions, but sometimes was used for self-entertainment.
Relationships[]
- Ali: Ali is Bulat's classmate and fellow Techno agent. He was the one to tell Ali about Khai feeling angry at him for destroying R-0, and was the one to clapped and felt goosebumps after Ali's inspirational speech.
- Roza: In M.A.T.A. Academy, Bulat got annoyed with Roza for giving him too much orders, and find it unfair that he has to do all the heavy work while she gets to sit in the same spot throughout the training. Bulat eventually learnt from Agent Geetha the role of a Neuro agent and decides to cooperate with her next training session, and apologise to her for lashing out the last time. In Side Mission, he accidentally eaten up all of Roza's bubblegum stocks for the month, making her angry.
