MISSION: HOPE (Malay: MISI: HARAPAN) is the twenty-fourth episode of Agent Ali. It is also the eleventh episode of Season 2. It airs on February 23, 2018.
Synopsis[]
This story focuses on Rizwan infiltrating the base of the Numeros, and the backstory of Rudy.
Plot[]
At the Numeros headquarters, Rizwan was training with Seis and Siete. Siete saw that his new friend was often running away and avoiding attacks and invited him to fight back. Rizwan rushed back towards Siete, dodging the ball he kicked and almost hit him in the face with his right hand but stopped. Siete grabbed his hand and was about to throw it, and Rizwan took the opportunity to attack again with his left hand but was prevented. Seis interrupted by kicking the ball towards them and told Siete to pass the ball back. Rizwan acted to punch the ball, then Siete condemned his action which was against the rules of football. Seis came to do a sliding tackle on Rizwan, then Rizwan immediately pressed Seis until he collapsed.
Cinco stopped the training and assessed Rizwan's recovery well. Siete complained that it was too early to stop, so Cinco told the twins to save their energy because they did not want to suffer injuries at this time. Seis mocked Rizwan again, so Rizwan grabbed a lollipop and challenged the twins to a fight. Seis and Siete rushed towards Rizwan, defying Cinco's order to stop; Uno then appeared and asked Cinco to let them go.
Seis jumped and attacked Rizwan from above but was parried. Siete kicked the ball and released an electromagnetic wave but Rizwan dodged as well. Siete passed the ball to Seis, then Seis jumped and kicked the ball towards Rizwan, but Rizwan sprinted from there to Siete and patted his stomach until he was thrown. He then sprinted to Seis. Seis defended himself by trying to kick Rizwan, but Rizwan dodged and patted Seis on the back until he collapsed as well. Uno clapped his hands to witness Rizwan's progress.
After training, Uno commented that the treatment Rizwan underwent was more effective than expected, confirming his prediction that Rizwan was one of the greatest. However, he questioned Rizwan's struggle, making Rizwan think for a moment. Uno expressed gratitude that Rizwan came to fight with him and left.
At school, Viktor excitedly asked Ali if he had tried the latest Story Mode in the game Detective Jebat. Ali admitted that he didn't have time, so Viktor told Ali that he was at a loss because he had already played to the end, and instead found that the hero of the game had been betrayed by his friend again. Ali was upset to hear the news, and Viktor even groaned remembering the fate of his hero where friends always turned into enemies.
Mrs. Munah jumped into the classroom to start the "Final Year Science Project", 'lit up' with an electronic whiteboard display that emitted images of blazing fire, shocking the entire class. The teacher scolded her students for being surprised by the school's routine, then told them to find a friend and start the project immediately based on the theme of aerodynamics and hydrodynamics. Giving them one week to finish, Mrs. Munah pointed a cane at Ali and promised severe punishment for those who failed. Ali panicked and immediately invited Viktor, but seeing Mia trying to sweep Viktor, Ali returned empty-handed. Viktor asked Mia to pair up for the History project so that he could join Ali, so Mia left angrily.
After class, Viktor was excited about the science project and planned to go to Ali's house to discuss ideas while playing Story Mode in Detective Jebat. Ali wanted to agree with Viktor but remembered the "Stamp Club" and asked for a delay. Viktor was also disappointed and even surprised to find that Ali attended the stamp club every day, compared to Viktor's e-sports club which he only attended twice a week. Ali made the excuse that "Cikgu Bidin" liked to show off his stamp collection, then excused himself.
At the M.A.T.A Academy, Agents Leon, Bakar, Geetha and Karya walked towards the meeting room at the General's call based on the latest intelligence on Rizwan. Leon explained that Rizwan had been spotted in the northern forest area of Cyberaya with Uno's henchmen. Karya asked if they would go hunting for him; Geetha said maybe not because they needed to keep a closer eye on the young agents since the Override Mode incident. Bakar said that Rizwan could defeat a team by himself. Unknowingly, the four of them were eavesdropped on...
...by Moon who then made a big fuss about it to his academy friends, and M.A.T.A. even planned to send all the agents to hunt down Rizwan. Chris commented that this was a serious matter. Ali was saddened to hear the news and remembered Rizwan's actions of turning against him and supporting Uno's side. Moon agreed and also condemned Rizwan's actions of joining the bad guys. Rudy got angry and cursed Ali and Moon for cursing Rizwan without checking because they didn't know the real Djin.
Rudy closed the story by saying that Djin was the only one among M.A.T.A. who was willing to help him, and that Djin would do anything to defend Cyberaya's fate. Ali then questioned Djin's actions in betraying the agency that protected Cyberaya, so Rudy continued to reject him and insisted that Djin was not a defector. Ali then asked why Rudy didn't continue to follow Djin, whom he considered good. Ali's words shocked the other friends. Rudy gets mad and goes to attack Ali, but is restrained by Chris and Jet while Alicia pulls him away.
At Numeros headquarters, Uno asked Cinco about the I.R.I.S. cloning process. Cinco happily replied that everything was going well and Cuatro was expected to complete it soon. Rizwan came forward and asked to talk to Uno alone. After Cinco resigned, Rizwan started by complaining that he had difficulty speaking, so Uno asked him to be frank because they were now on the same side. Rizwan acknowledged that they fought together for Cyberaya, but Numeros' plan to attack M.A.T.A. would cause many casualties, making Uno clasp his hands. Rizwan even hoped that a more peaceful way would be found to avoid a battle.
Uno got up from his chair and asked Rizwan about his suggestion. Rizwan planned to bring Uno to the M.A.T.A. Core Leaders. Uno was furious that Rizwan wanted to bring him to negotiate, so Rizwan said he just wanted the two sides to make peace, especially with Zain. Uno then got angry and scolded Rizwan for mentioning Zain's name, then drew his sword and cut open the boxes in front of him, loudly complaining that he had sacrificed more for Cyberaya than the other leaders but was ultimately repaid with betrayal by them. Then he pointed his sword at Rizwan's neck and warned him not to make that "nonsense" proposal again. Rizwan was tongue-tied and held his breath while Uno put away his sword and told him to prepare for action.
In the Numeros lab, Professor Akram wiped away his sweat as he began the process of assembling the I.R.I.S clone, then inhaled the respirator while waiting for the process to complete. After the process was complete, the Professor got up from his chair and was horrified at the consequences of his actions. Rizwan came to visit the Professor and sternly reminded him that they had no other choice.
In the classroom, Alicia scolded Ali for saying words that hurt Rudy's feelings. Ali didn't listen and admitted that he wasn't afraid to fight Rudy, so Alicia reminded him that even he couldn't possibly beat the boy. As punishment, Alicia locked Ali in the classroom with Comot. Ali vented his anger by swinging his yo-yo around until he suddenly hit Agent Zain's hologram, then he immediately apologized and complained to Zain about Rudy's attitude, especially regarding Uno's betrayal.
Zain asked Ali if he thought Agent Rizwan was evil, so Ali retorted. Zain said that this was the feeling that Rudy was experiencing, which he was not happy to accept that the person he had admired for so long had become an enemy, in fact he might be confused or still hoping that there was another reason Djin acted like that. Zain also said that all agents must unite and fight as a team regardless of differences in order to reveal the purpose of M.A.T.A. being established, which is to protect Cyberaya, so Ali must avoid repeating the mistakes of the Core Leaders and unite the young agents.
At Numeros headquarters, Uno and Cinco were shocked by the act of deleting the I.R.I.S. program from their system. Cinco took Ocho immediately to the laboratory to stop Cuatro. Professor Akram voiced his determination to break Numeros' wishes and destroy his computer with a canister. Cinco threatened to inflict consequences on the Professor's family, so the Professor stopped. Rizwan stopped Cinco from acting while expressing his feelings when he was betrayed first by throwing a lollipop stick and dropping his tablet.
Ocho acted against Rizwan with Microbug. Cinco saw Professor Akram stomping on his tablet until it was broken and ordered Ocho to attack him. Ocho threw a crowd of Microbugs to grab the Professor, then Rizwan came to break the Microbug and save the Professor. Ocho again directed the Microbug at Rizwan, and Rizwan jumped at Ocho and teased him by pressing his shoulder. Ocho controlled the Microbug to surround Rizwan, but Rizwan sped out of the encirclement and slapped Ocho's face so hard that his right eye burst.
At Rizwan's call, Professor Akram set a time bomb on the laboratory panel and left. Cinco realized the bomb contained Azurium and asked what Rizwan was going to do. Rizwan replied that he was doing the same thing that Cinco did to M.A.T.A. while taking the Professor out and locking the laboratory door. Cinco began to worry and knocked on the door, but he realized that the interrogator equipped with an emergency communication device was still good and continued to set it up and told Uno of Rizwan and Cuatro's defection and the time bomb. Uno, enraged, stomps on his computer panel and tasks Dos to rescue Cinco while ordering Trez to block all exits and the other members to find the defector and capture him alive.
In the middle of escaping from the headquarters, Rizwan stops and asks the Professor to keep running first because he wants to turn back to plant another bomb to complete the mission.
In the laboratory, Cinco urges Ocho to form a Microbug shield to protect them from the explosion, but Ocho is unable to act because he is screaming in pain from Rizwan's blow. Dos grabs the door and urges Cinco to get out, but Cinco gets the idea to deactivate the bomb by borrowing Dos' bun and using it with his tablet pen to form a short circuit to stop the bomb. Dos takes cover with Ocho and questions Cinco's actions, but Cinco manages to deactivate the bomb a second before the explosion.
Professor Akram is getting closer to the cave entrance to exit the headquarters, but he sees Seis and Siete appear and immediately hides by clinging to the platform. After the twins left, the Professor got back on and rushed away, but was stopped by Trez and turned back, then grabbed by Nueve with telekinesis so that Trez could catch him. "Uno" came asking Trez to get off so that Uno could carry the defector himself, then ordered Trez and Nueve to go hunt down Rizwan.
At the center of the headquarters, Dos sat down the injured Ocho, while Cinco apologized to Uno for failing to stop Rizwan and Cuatro. Suddenly Trez and Nueve entered, and Uno scolded them for not blocking the exit, confusing them. Apparently, Rizwan disguised himself as Uno and managed to get Professor Akram out of the Numeros headquarters, then he pressed the button to detonate the bombs planted throughout the headquarters, causing the entire cave to collapse. The Professor decided not to follow Rizwan back to M.A.T.A. and simply asked him to send his regards. Rizwan sucked on a lollipop and left calmly.

- this episode consists of the backstory of Rudy, however there are some strange things found in the episode.
- The question remains of why exactly Djin followed Rudy in the first place, when he hadn't seen him fight. All he saw was him stealing his wallet, which didn't exactly show "Potential".
- The manipulation tactic Djin used on Rudy is the exact same we see Dayang use on Aliya in the movie.
- The two kids Rudy hangs out with remain nameless, however it was shown he cares for them, willing to share his loot with them. This might be that Rudy had friends or even siblings that he never saw again. (The sibling theory can be debunked, as Khai stated Rudy has no family left.)
- These two children are then seen again in Niki's hideout in MISI: NEO. This could just be WAU reusing assets, though.
- Chronologically, Rudy is the first of the young agents to encounter Komeng and his gang onscreen.
- This, however, may be able to be explained. Since Rudy was extremely young during this time, he might have repressed certain things or mis-remembered which gang had attacked him. This isn't set in stone, however.
- In this episode, Rudy seemed to be the same age as Alicia was when she started training, so around 1-3 years old.
- In later episodes, while Rudy is greatly attached and devoted to Djin, it seems like they had minimal interactions, as Djin doesn't remember Rudy, or he might have only said that to rid any emotional hurdles for his and the numeros's mission.
- Almost nothing is known about Rudy's family, other than that they had all died. However, it is not stated they "died", just that Rudy had no biological family. This could imply some more lore that will be disclosed in later installments.
- Rudy seems to have grown up in the same slum Niki did, which could mean they knew each other before.
- The question remains of why exactly Djin followed Rudy in the first place, when he hadn't seen him fight. All he saw was him stealing his wallet, which didn't exactly show "Potential".
